French authorities have confiscated 72 firearms and over 3,000 rounds of ammunition from the residence of iconic actor Alain Delon.

The actor, aged 88, renowned for his tough-guy roles in classics like “The Samurai” and “Borsalino,” was found to lack the necessary permit for gun ownership.

The discovery was made at his home in Douchy-Montcorbon, approximately 135km south of Paris, where a shooting range was also located.

The search was initiated after a court-appointed official observed a weapon during a visit to Mr. Delon’s residence and promptly alerted a judge.

The actor’s health has been a concern since he suffered a stroke in 2019, with recent legal disputes among his three children adding to the family’s troubles.

Alain Delon’s family issues have become public, featuring mutual grievances, insults, accusations, lawsuits, and secret recordings.

Ongoing legal disputes, including disagreements over the actor’s medical treatment, have intensified family tensions.

Last month, a court-appointed doctor examined Mr. Delon, but the findings were immediately contested by his children.

Concerns regarding the actor’s well-being arose in the previous year when his children filed a complaint against his former live-in assistant, Hiromi Rollin, accusing her of “moral harassment.”

Her lawyer refuted all allegations at the time. Alain Delon’s last notable public appearance occurred in 2019 when he received an honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival.

In September 2019, he attended the funeral of his friend and fellow star Jean-Paul Belmondo in Paris.
