Closure of Ewusiejoe Section on Takoradi-Agona Road for Bridge Repair Works Announced – Ghana Highway Authority

The Ministry of Roads and Highways through the Ghana Highway Authority has announced that the Ewusiejoe section of the Takoradi-Agona Road on the N1 Highway will be completely closed to traffic from midnight, Friday, February 23 to Tuesday, February 27th, 2024, at 4 am.

In a statement, the closure is intended to enable the authority to carry out major repair works on the approaches to the Butre River Bridge at Ewusiejoe, near Takoradi.

The Authority is cautioning motorists travelling between Takoradi and Agona Junction and beyond to note that no vehicle can access the bridge while repair works are ongoing.

However, a temporary route has been designed for categories of vehicles.

Vehicles from Bogoso and Asankragwa should turn left at Aboso (Tarkwa)—Damang to Atieku to Daboase junction road, and vice versa.

Vehicles from Elubo should turn left at Apimanim towards Tarkwa and turn right at Aboso (Tarkwa) to Damang to Atieku through to Dabaose junction road, and vice versa.

It added that vehicles with a weight not exceeding 50 tonnes plying the Agona NKwanta-Takoradi road should turn right at Aboadi to Sese to Hotopo through to Ewusiejoe and vice versa.
