Akyem Abuakwa traditional council resolves dispute with Begoro chief

Begoro

Bafour Owiredu Agyarko Minta II, the Ankobeahene of the Begoro Stool, faced caution from the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council in the Eastern Region following his alleged support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, during a visit to the Eastern Region.

Appearing before the council on Monday, February 19, he was confronted with a petition.

The petitioners sought various remedies, including destoolment, nullification of his actions, a public retraction of certain statements, and an apology to the people of Begoro.

In a recent statement to the media, the chief’s lawyer revealed that the traditional council intervened after private discussions with both the petitioners and the chief, putting an end to the matter.

The lawyer explained that the council, after deliberation, decided not to pursue the issue further, concluding that it has been resolved and will not be revisited.
