Chelsea’s summer signing, Cole Palmer has clinched the Carabao Cup Player of the Round for the Semi-Finals following his impressive performance against Championship side Middleborough.
Despite missing crucial chances in the first leg at the Riverside, the former Manchester City player redeemed himself by scoring twice in the second leg at Stamford Bridge. His goal contributed to a convincing 6-1 victory for the Blues on home turf, securing their place at Wembley against Liverpool.
Despite Chelsea’s poor results in the Premier League this season, they remains optimistic about their chances of clinching the Carabao Cup and had to come from a goal down in the first leg to advance to this year’s showpiece.
Palmer who is gradually proving to be Chelsea’s best summer signing has scored 12 goals in all completions including 2 goals in the Carabao cup this season. With each match, Palmer solidifies his status as a key contributor to Chelsea’s campaign.
Chelsea will play against Premier League giant Liverpool in the final at Wembley on Sunday, 25th February 2024.
