Google has committed 25 million euros ($26.98 million) to support AI education initiatives in Europe.
The tech giant announced this funding on Monday, inviting applications from social enterprises and nonprofits to assist those who would benefit most from AI training.
Additionally, Google plans to conduct “growth academies” to aid companies in scaling their operations using AI, and it has expanded its free online AI courses to encompass 18 languages.
Adrian Brown, executive director of the Centre for Public Impact, remarked, “Research indicates that the advantages of AI could widen existing disparities—particularly concerning economic stability and employment.
This new initiative will empower individuals across Europe to enhance their understanding, skills, and confidence in AI, ensuring inclusivity.”
Last month, Google disclosed its intention to invest $1 billion in constructing a data center near London to meet the escalating demand for internet services in the area.
The facility, situated on a 33-acre (13-hectare) site acquired by Google in 2020, will be situated in Waltham Cross, approximately 15 miles (24.14 km) north of central London, according to a statement from the Alphabet-owned company.
