Tattooed Kenyan youths excluded from state youth agency recruitment
Several Kenyan youths have been barred from participating in the current recruitment drive for the state youth agency due to having tattoos on their bodies.
Despite meeting educational requirements and passing the physical fitness assessment for the National Youth Service (NYS), these individuals were deemed ineligible solely because of their body art.
Expressing discontent, some of the disqualified youths questioned the decision and urged authorities to reconsider, emphasizing their qualifications for the NYS roles.
While the authorities did not provide immediate explanations for this exclusion, they assured that a statement addressing the matter would be released at the conclusion of the recruitment process, as reported by local media.
The nationwide NYS recruitment, which commenced on Monday, aims to enlist a minimum of 15,000 recruits.
