Co-convenor for the Ghana Civil Society Cocoa Platform, Obed Owusu Addai, has called on the Ghana Cocoa Board to put in place serious policies that will properly direct operations in the sector.
He emphasizes the need to prioritize, among other things, the well-being of cocoa farmers.
Mr Addai’s comments come in the wake of news on social media that Ghana now imports cocoa from neighbouring countries, which was later dismissed by Cocobod.
He urged the government to invest more in farmers.
Mr. Addai urged Cocobod and the government to interrogate and urgently address the multitude of challenges confronting the sector.
