Italy returns Ethiopia’s first aircraft built in 1935
Ethiopia’s prime minister announced that Italy has returned the first aircraft constructed in Ethiopia back to the country.
The plane, built in 1935, was taken during Italy’s fascist rule and displayed at the Italian Aviation Museum in Rome.
Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed received the aircraft in a formal ceremony in Rome, describing the event as “a day of great pride” for Ethiopia.
The aircraft, named Tsehai and adorned with green, red, and yellow colors, is believed to have been named after Emperor Haile Selassie’s daughter.
