Bobi Wine urges civil disobedience against long-ruling Ugandan president
Uganda’s opposition leader, Bobi Wine, has urged for civil disobedience and what he termed a “moral uprising” against President Yoweri Museveni, who has held power for 38 years.
In an interview with France 24, he expressed concerns for his safety, alleging the regime’s intention to eliminate opposition.
Bobi Wine’s 2021 presidential bid is the subject of a documentary recently nominated for an Academy Award.
His political party, the National Unity Platform, filed a case with the high court in Kampala, seeking the release of 18 supporters missing since the unrest during the 2021 election campaign.
