Health workers seek 8-month overdue pension payments

Health

The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) and the Health Services Workers Union have submitted a formal request to the National Pension Regulatory Authority, urging the release of their pension arrears spanning eight months.

Expressing dissatisfaction, both unions highlighted the non-transfer of their two-tier pension deductions from their salaries to the respective accounts.

Perpetual Ofori Ampofo, President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association, emphasized the need for authorities to provide clarifications regarding these discrepancies.

“Month after month, we see these monies deducted and clearly shown on our payslips. But they don’t reflect in our pension scheme. We check our statements, and there’s nothing there. At the end of the day, where is the money?” inquired Perpetual Ofori Ampofo.
