People Think I Can’t Speak English Because I Am Into Hilife—Dada Hafco
One of Ghana’s finest hilife sensations, Dada HAFCO, has sparked an irrational mindset some Ghanaians have concerning the hilife genre and musicians.
Dada Hafco revealed that some Ghanaians call him a villager and even think he can’t speak English because he’s into hilife.
On the after-drive on Spice 91.9 FM, the host Nana Ama Shancy questioned the “girlfriend” hitmaker that, are the hilife musicians appreciated by Ghanaians and he answered negatively. “I don’t think they do. They don’t. They even see us as villagers. Yes, there are several times people call me a villager.
They even come at me on social media. Some Ghanaians have an ill mindset when it comes to the hilife genre, and it’s funny. They’ve always seen hilife artiste as villagers, even veterans. But that’s our original sound and the faster we embrace it, the better for us”, he answered
Dada Hafco also mentioned that people get surprised when they hear him speak English because they believe that hi-life musicians can’t speak English. The “puu puu” singer raised concerns about the stigma they face as highlife artistes, and it’s overly worrying.
According to him, Ghanaians need to be highly educated on all these things because he believes we are way behind, and that’s bad news for us.
