Ayariga calls for peace in Bawku after recent killings
Mahama truck transporting trader, the Member of Parliament for Bawku Central, has strongly denounced an assault on a truck transporting traders from Bawku to Binduri, resulting in the tragic death of approximately seven individuals and injuries to others.
The incident took place on the outskirts of Binduri, where unidentified gunmen ambushed and opened fire on the truck destined for the Atuba market on Monday, January 22.
Expressing his condemnation, Ayariga urged the Ghana Police Service to promptly initiate investigations, aiming to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the attack.
In his statement, he reiterated his call for all parties involved in the Bawku conflict to cease hostilities and put an end to the senseless violence.
In a related development, Ayinga Abagre Yakubu, the District Chief Executive for Binduri, stated in an interview that establishing a connection between the attack and the ongoing conflict in Bawku was challenging.
He also advocated for thorough investigations to be conducted to shed light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
