MP for Shama Constituency, Lawyer Samuel Erikson Abakah Asserts Uncontested Bid for Second Term

The Member of Parliament for the Shama Constituency, Lawyer Samuel Erickson Abakah, says he deserves a second term without being contested.

According to Lawyer Abekah, his competitors should have rather thrown their support for him considering his good works in the constituency.

Lawyer Abakah considers his contenders “no match” because they are in the race to test the waters and possibly launch their campaigns in subsequent elections.

He mentioned this in an interview with Ohenewaa Priscilla, the host of the Adzekyee Mu Nsem Show on Spice FM.

” I deserve a second term going unchallenged They were informed, and they could have thrown their weight behind their MP because he has performed creditably, but that is the essence of democracy. Some only want to test the waters and launch their campaign in subsequent years. For now, it’s a trial period for them. I don’t think they will pose any threat to retaining me.”

Lawyer Samuel Erickson Abakah clarified that the withdrawal of one of the contenders, Madam Emilia Aikins, was based on an agreement for a common good for the people of Shama.

Lawyer Abakah is being challenged by a former DCE of Shama, Joseph Amoah, and Regional Patron, Isaac Kwamena Afful.

He opined that unseating an incumbent MP mostly affects the completion of projects.

He said, “For the good of the party and the good people of Shama, they needed to give me a second term, so she threw her weight behind me despite the unhealthy things that went on.

The changing of one term MP is worrying as it retards development.”
