Sudan expels Chadian diplomats following reciprocal move by Chad
Sudan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued a directive mandating three Chadian diplomats to depart the country within 72 hours, reciprocating a similar action taken by Chad.
Earlier, Chad’s government labeled four Sudanese diplomats linked to Sudan’s embassy in N’Djamena as ‘persona non grata,’ demanding their exit within 72 hours.
This decision came after two Sudanese officials accused Chad of interfering in Khartoum’s ongoing conflict by supporting the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary group.
A spokesperson for Chad’s government, quoted by Reuters, deemed Sudan’s repeated accusations toward Chad as unacceptable, hostile, and suggestive of a hidden agenda.
This stance led to Chad’s decision to expel the Sudanese diplomats, mirroring Sudan’s subsequent expulsion of Chadian envoys in retaliation.
