Australian woman charged for stealing van loaded with 10,000 doughnuts
An incident in Australia involved a woman being charged after she allegedly stole a delivery van packed with 10,000 Krispy Kreme doughnuts from a petrol station in a Sydney suburb in the early hours of November 29.
The van was discovered abandoned a week later, along with thousands of spoilt doughnuts, in a car park.
Following this discovery, the 28-year-old woman was arrested on Thursday. She faces multiple charges, including vehicle theft and driving while disqualified, and was denied bail.
Reportedly, CCTV footage captured the woman at the service station around 4:00 AM local time on November 28, where she is seen entering the unattended delivery van and driving away.
It remains uncertain if she was aware of the 10,000 doughnuts in the van, which included both Christmas-themed and classic varieties.
Krispy Kreme promptly informed the police about the incident and assured customers of their commitment to “replace the 10,000 stolen doughnuts,” as reported by News.com.au.
