25-year-old serial killer in Uganda receives 105-year prison sentence
In Kampala, Uganda’s High Court handed down a 105-year prison term to Musa Musasizi, aged 25, on Wednesday.
Musasizi pleaded guilty to the murders of three women, identified as his girlfriends, and a three-month-old girl, the child of one of his victims.
According to court proceedings, Musasizi engaged in romantic relationships with the women before committing sexual assault and murder. He then reportedly disposed of their bodies by burning them.
Justice Margaret Mutonyi emphasized the necessity of the lengthy sentence to safeguard young women, including Musasizi’s own six-year-old daughter, as highlighted by the privately-owned NTV channel’s report.
Musasizi had initially been arrested in March 2021 on suspicion of killing five women and an infant. He was convicted for the murder of one woman in July.
During previous proceedings, Musasizi’s lawyer had appealed for leniency, citing his client’s challenging upbringing as a former street child.
