Rebecca Akufo-Addo predicts that Ghana will elect its first female president
During the 5th session of the 15th Congregation at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, Ghana’s First Lady, Rebecca Akufo-Addo, expressed her optimism about the country electing its first female president in the near future.
Rebecca Akufo-Addo believes that such a historic achievement would serve as an inspiration for girls nationwide, encouraging them to strive for excellence in contributing to Ghana’s development.
Addressing young girls, the First Lady urged them to be motivated and aspire to reach greater heights in their careers and personal growth.
Highlighting the significant roles played by women in both the judiciary and executive branches, she shared her dream of witnessing a day when Ghana proudly has a female president.
In her words, “I dream that one day there will be a woman president in Ghana and Madam President will be said as easy as Mr. President.”
Additionally, the University of Professional Studies bestowed an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters (HonD.HL) upon the First Lady.
The ceremony also recognized the achievements of former Ghanaian Speaker of Parliament, Justice Adeline Bamford-Addo, and the first female Chief Justice of the Republic, Justice Georgina Theodora Wood, honoring them for their notable contributions to Ghana’s development.
