‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ star Andre Braugher dies aged 61
Actor Andre Braugher, known for his roles in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” and “Homicide: Life on the Street,” has passed away at 61 following a short illness.
Braugher, acclaimed for portraying police officers in both dramatic and comedic roles, received praise and tributes from colleagues and peers in the entertainment industry.
Terry Crews, Braugher’s co-star in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” honored his talent, expressing deep sadness over his untimely departure: “I’m honored to have known you, laughed with you, worked with you and shared eight glorious years watching your irreplaceable talent.”
Braugher’s career spanned an impressive array of awards and nominations, including two Emmy Awards out of 11 nominations.
His notable wins came for his performances in “Homicide: Life on the Street” and “Thief.” He gained widespread recognition for his role in the film “Glory” in 1989, which starred alongside Matthew Broderick, Morgan Freeman, and Denzel Washington.
The actor’s impact extended across various films and television shows, with standout roles in “Homicide: Life on the Street,” “She Said,” and his memorable portrayal in “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” alongside Andy Samberg and other cast members.
