Chairman of the Governing Council of the Ghana Chamber of Commerce for Young Entrepreneurs, Richard Addison, says it is time we look outside the box to provide a solution to the growing number of unemployment cases in the region.
Mr Addison is of a firm belief that young people deserve equal opportunities to be able to solve the problems within the region.
He proposed that acquiring data on graduates from various institutions can help companies recruit experts for jobs.
He said, “Data is essential and very important. If we have a database of all these artisans, be it plumbers or electricians, we have some apps where there are databases of artisans, where people can go and employ the services of these artisans.”
Mr. Addison observed that the government’s introduction of entrepreneurship policies is laudable and should be embraced by all, especially the youth.
“The drive of the government to get young people into entrepreneurship is laudable. We need to start talking to them about what they have to do. We need to encourage the youth to think outside the box, to look at problems and solve them,” Mr. Addison said.
