As part of Beach FMs Physical Wellness Month initiative to educate listeners to include healthy living in their lifestyle.
Today’s edition, a Nutritionist and Founder of Cocados, Mrs Amanda Nketiah, in an interview with Yaw Mawutor on the Mid-Morning Lounge mentioned some categories of people and the kind of meals they must take to stay healthy.
Mrs Amanda Nketiah noted that nursing mothers must eat healthily to supplement the nutrients to produce quality milk.
She asserted that nursing mothers must focus more on their proteins, vitamins, fruits, vegetables, and nuts, which will help their bodies heal from the journey of pregnancy.
Having a balanced meal she said will also help nursing mothers gain more energy.
For young women going through their menstrual cycles, Mrs Nketsiah entreated them to take in foods rich in vitamins and refrain from consuming foods which contain unsaturated fats.
She further put out advice for people who are bedridden and recovering from short or long-term illnesses to take in more fluid foods like soups and smoothies, fruits like coconut water which according to her is superfluid, and also to reduce carbohydrate intake to quickly gain energy and get back on their feet.
Mrs Nketiah said we must try to have an 80 to 20 balance in healthy dieting and that it is ill-advised to blend smoothies with ice cream or processed juices and also drink cold water or beverages
She nonetheless encouraged purchasing with a healthy mindset.
