Music Fades Easily Nowadays Because Of Hollow Lyrics – Nana Kakyire Kwame Appiah
Ghanaian highlife musician Nana Kakyire Kwame Appiah has declared musical lyrics these days as hollow compared to his days.
To him musicians do not bother writing lyrics nowadays, they normally flow with beats produced for them. Kakyire Kwame Appiah took us back to their time in the 90’s and how difficult it was making music especially writing the the lyrics.
“ During our time we write lyrics and your song has to go through inspection and scrutiny before it could be approved for release. Unlike musicians of today, saying anything in music just for fame because there’s freedom of speech.
Before, if there are certain lyrics in your music, it will be disapproved. I said “me broni” which is translated in English as my white woman and it was disapproved, ” He said.
he made this known in an interview with Nana Ama Shancy on Spice FM, Ofie ne FIE.
Kakyire also added that Nigerians are on top of Ghana musically because our DJs dominate the airwaves with Nigerian music.
Kakyire blames the DJs in Ghana for the overtaking of Nigerian music in our country. Kakyire Kwame Appiah has a new single out dubbed “Di me Bronya” which is to get us ready for Christmas.
