National Theatre staff seek the removal of Executive Director due to alleged mismanagement
A group of National Theatre employees is calling for the immediate removal of their Executive Director, Emmy Frimpong, citing alleged mismanagement and a lack of worker promotions over the past 12 years.
Workers claim that funds have been misappropriated, and facility maintenance has been neglected. Notably, there were reports of mismatched “foreign” chairs replacing some seats.
Some event organizers setting up a program also reported non-functioning air conditioners.
The National Theatre has not seen significant renovation in its 30 years of existence. In protest, the workers wore red and tied red cloth to the building, with plans to submit a petition to management.
