Justin Kodua Frimpong, the General Secretary of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), emphasized the NPP’s unmatched track record in revitalizing Ghana’s economy during a press conference to discuss the NPP’s presidential election preparations for November 4.
He pointed out that when it comes to managing Ghana’s economy, the NPP has a record that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) cannot rival.
He acknowledged that current challenges have arisen due to factors like COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine War, but he highlighted the NPP’s achievements.
Kodua commended the economic and managerial abilities of former President Kufuor and current President Akufo-Addo.
Under Kufuor’s leadership from 2001 to 2009, the NPP rejuvenated Ghana’s economy after a period of stagnation left by the NDC.
Similarly, during President Akufo-Addo’s tenure, the economy saw consistent growth, averaging 7 percent annually for three consecutive years before being affected by the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia’s War in Ukraine.
He assured Ghanaians that the NPP is actively working to improve the economy, and he believes that the current challenges will soon be a thing of the past based on their track record.
