Haruna Iddrisu expresses concerns about the Vodafone sale

Haruna Iddrisu, the Member of Parliament for Tamale South, is calling for government accountability regarding the alleged sale of Vodafone Ghana for under $100 million.
According to him, even though the telecommunications company is valued at $1 billion, it has reportedly been sold at a lower price on credit.
During a parliamentary session, he insisted that the Minister for Communications, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, should address Parliament and provide details on this transaction.
Iddrisu seeks clarification on whether the sale of Vodafone, a significant national asset, at a considerably reduced price constitutes a legitimate economic transaction as defined by Article 185 of the 1992 Constitution. He also wants an update on the changes in Ghana’s telecom industry and its impact.
