Robbers fatally shoot security guard at a fuel station in Suhum
At a Total fuel station in Suhum, Eastern Region, a security guard was fatally shot by armed robbers in a tragic incident that occurred on Monday, October 30.
Around 6:43 p.m., five robbers, who were on foot, launched an attack on the fuel station during rainy weather. They entered the store and confronted the security guard, known as Kwasi Agbeti or Killer.
The robbers initially assaulted Agbeti with sticks. When he tried to seek refuge away from the store, they shot him at close range.
In addition, they shot the station supervisor in his office and made off with an undisclosed sum of money. They also targeted a tanker driver who had just arrived to unload fuel, stealing his mobile phone and GH¢1000.
Agbeti was rushed to the hospital in a customer’s vehicle, but unfortunately, he didn’t survive. The supervisor is presently receiving treatment at the Eastern Regional Hospital.
This marks the third robbery incident in the Suhum area within two weeks. Both the police and National Investigation Bureau personnel are on-site to commence investigations into the crime.
In an interview, Dansoa Margaret, Agbeti’s sister, appealed to the Inspector General of Police to ensure that her family receives justice.
