Consider Pensions As One Of The Best Avenues To Invest In – Informal Sector Urged

The Western Regional Chairman of the Trades Union Congress, Charles Thompson Junior, says the 2023 SSNIT/TUC Regional SEED Forum will help workers in the informal sector make an informed decision on contributing to SSNIT.

At a day’s event to sensitize the members of TUC, the Chairman mentions that pensions are to be taken personally as they aid an individual in their old age.

Mr. Thompson Junior maintains that such engagement will be frequently organized to drum home the importance of contributing to Social Security and National Trust (SSNIT).

In a related development, the Chief Executive Officer of the National Pensions Regulatory Authority, NPRA Hayford Attah Krufi, has urged Ghanaians to consider pensions as one of the best avenues to put their investments in.

According to Mr. Atta Krufi, the various pension schemes provide an opportunity for the contributor to have some of the contributions in savings; hence, in the event of need, the individual can access a portion of the fund to support his or her needs.

Mr. Krufi underscored the importance of starting pensions early, at the age of 15.

He noted that this will allow individuals to have enough time to save for old age.
