IGP assures of safety for Ghanaians during this year’s Christmas season
The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, has provided assurance to Ghanaians, both within the country and abroad, that this year’s Christmas will be safe and secure, with the police fully prepared to protect individuals and their assets.
Dr. Dampare specifically encourages Ghanaians in the diaspora and other foreign nationals to choose Ghana as their destination, promising them a warm welcome and complete security.
“We want to assure you that this Christmas will be awesome. I assure you that the police will give you a double overdose of security.”
“So Ghana is ready, to all the tourists I want to assure you that Ghana is ready, the police is ready, come and enjoy our hospitality. We will protect you and all your belongings,” the IGP said at a meeting with the leadership of the TUC at the Police Headquarters on Wednesday.”
This meeting is part of the police administration’s ongoing efforts to engage with key stakeholders as part of the security preparations for the holiday season.
Earlier in the week, the IGP and the police management board held discussions with Muslim leaders and members of the Ghana Private Roads Transport Union, as well as individuals in the Creative Arts industry.
