NAM 1 vows to retrieve his GH₵2.5 million from police
The CEO of Menzgold Ghana Limited, Nana Appiah Mensah (NAM 1), has expressed his intention to approach the Ghana Police to retrieve the GH₵2.5 million he had sent for distribution to customers.
He stated that the police were not supposed to deposit the money with the Bank of Ghana.
According to him, their initial agreement with the police was for security, and the money was meant to be distributed through a designated police desk.
NAM 1 emphasized that he was taken by surprise to learn that the funds had been placed in the Bank of Ghana.
The police, acting on advice from the Office of the Attorney-General, had received the GH₵2.5 million from NAM 1 on October 20, 2023.
They subsequently deposited the funds in the Police Exhibit account at the Bank of Ghana, as part of their ongoing investigation into petitions from customers of MenzGold Ghana Company Limited and Brew Marketing Consult Limited.
These petitions are currently before the Accra High Court in a case against Nana Appiah Mensah.
The final decision regarding the disbursement of the funds will be determined by the court, as stated by the police administration in their official statement.
Whether the police will comply with Nana Appiah Mensah’s request to return the money remains to be seen.
