Adutwum urges Mepe to work with Education Ministry on educational issues caused by Akosombo spillage

Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister of Education, has called on Mepe’s chiefs and residents to work together with the Ministry to tackle the educational difficulties arising from the Akosombo Dam spillage.

Due to the Akosombo Dam spillage, numerous residents in Mepe, located in the North Tongu District of the Volta Region, are experiencing a serious crisis as their homes have been flooded.

The formal education system in various parts of the region has been disrupted due to the severe consequences of the Akosombo Dam spillage.

During a meeting with education sector stakeholders and leaders of the Mepe Traditional Council on Tuesday, Dr. Adutwum stressed the importance of a collaborative effort to improve the situation for students and teachers in the area. He expressed his commitment to working together to overcome the challenges and ultimately make Mepe a better place, emphasizing the potential for positive outcomes despite the difficulties faced.

Dr. Adutwum emphasized that despite the challenges, the community can transform adversity into success. He stressed the importance of education and assured that they would overcome the educational difficulties, making Mepe an even better place in the future.
