Ablakwa criticizes Freda Prempeh for her comments on the Akosombo Dam spillage
Samuel Okudzato Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu, expressed strong displeasure over recent comments made by Sanitation Minister Freda Prempeh.
At an event organized by the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) in Accra, Madam Prempeh pointed fingers at the residents of the Lower Volta region, alleging that they failed to heed relocation advice given by the Volta River Authority (VRA) and the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO).
Ablakwa strongly reacted to this statement, emphasizing that the affected people should be treated with respect.
He conveyed his frustration, stating that such comments were distressing, depressing, and devastating for the affected communities.
Ablakwa called for accurate information and clarification regarding when and where relocation advisories were issued.
He pointed out the long-standing presence of these communities before the dam’s construction.
