Deputy AG urges Prof Frimpong-Boateng to substantiate NPP galamsey allegations

Deputy Attorney General Alfred Tuah-Yeboah has requested that former Minister of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, provide concrete evidence to support his claims of illegal mining involving New Patriotic Party (NPP) members.

In his galamsey (illegal mining) report, Professor Frimpong-Boateng accused some prominent NPP members of employing Chinese nationals for illicit mining activities.

However, the Attorney General, Godfred Yeboah Dame, stated in a response that the former minister failed to furnish the necessary evidence to support prosecution.

Responding to the Attorney General’s statement, Professor Frimpong-Boateng emphasized that the consequences of alleged environmental destruction by wrongdoers would become apparent in the future.

In an interview, Alfred Tuah-Yeboah indicated that their office remains open to receiving any requisite evidence.

He stressed the importance of presenting hard evidence rather than speculations when pursuing legal action, underlining the need for concrete proof to substantiate allegations of illegal mining or other offenses.
