The one-week commemoration of the passing of Theresa Kufuor, the spouse of former President John Agyekum Kufuor, is currently underway in Peduase, located in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The event commenced on the morning of Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at the private residence of the former President.
In attendance are several notable figures, including President Nana Akufo-Addo, government ministers, Independent Candidate, Alan Kyerematen, family members, and friends.
The official funeral proceedings for the former First Lady are scheduled to be held at the forecourt of the State House on November 16, 2023.
The final rites will continue in Kumasi on November 18, concluding with her interment on November 19, 2023.
Born on October 25, 1935, Theresa Aba Kufuor, 87, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023. She spent much of her professional career in the United Kingdom after completing her studies at the Radcliffe Infirmary, Oxford, and Paddington General Hospital in London.
There, she obtained qualifications as a state-certified midwife and earned a certificate in premature nursing. The late Theresa Aba Kufuor was the youngest child of her parents.
