The 40.1% inflation rate for August 2023 has decreased to 38.1% for September 2023.
The inflation rate in 2023 has decreased twice in a row, to 40.1% in August and 38.1 in September, respectively.
Inflation rates for both food and non-food items decreased, according to data from the Ghana Statistical Service.
While food inflation dropped from 51.9% to 49.4% in August 2023, non-food inflation also fell from 30.9% to 29.3% in that same month.
Inflation rates for domestically manufactured goods were calculated at 37.3% and for imported goods at 39.9%.
Professor Samuel Kobina Annim, the government’s statistician, ascribed the fall to the Bank of Ghana’s strict monetary policy measures.
