Today, Financial Court 2 at the High Court Complex is scheduled to review former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah’s application regarding the seizure and freezing order filed by the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).

Additionally, on Monday, October 16, the same court will consider the OSP’s application for permission to submit a supplementary affidavit containing further evidence against Ms. Dapaah.

Cecilia Dapaah submitted an interlocutory injunction application against the OSP on October 10 to prevent the Office from investigating and prosecuting her and her husband, Daniel Osei Kufuor, for suspected corruption and related offenses.

Court documents indicate that she is also seeking an order from the court to unfreeze her bank accounts. She is requesting the court to declare the reseizure of funds discovered at her Abelemkpe residence and the refreezing of her bank accounts as unjust and arbitrary.

This legal action follows Ms. Dapaah’s involvement in a case in July, where her house helps faced allegations of stealing money and items valued at millions of Ghana Cedis.

Public pressure led to her resignation from her position as Sanitation Minister on July 22, 2023.
