Clients of Gold Coast Fund stage an overnight demonstration at the Finance Ministry

Finance Ministry

Clients of the collapsed Gold Coast Fund Management Company staged an overnight demonstration at the entrance of the Finance Ministry, persistently demanding the release of their frozen funds.

They asserted that despite Parliament’s approval of GH¢8.6 billion for their settlements, the promised funds had not been disbursed.

The protesters, hailing from various regions, were determined to picket at the Finance Ministry for 48 hours to emphasize their demands.

Charles Nyame, the group’s convener, explained that their decision to spend the night at the ministry aimed to strongly signal the government to meet its financial commitments. However, their efforts failed to elicit the expected response from the ministry.
