Stakeholders Receive Training On Social Accountability Tools

As part of the Twin Cities In Sustainable Partnership Projects, TCSPP, Sekondi- Takoradi Metropolis stakeholders have received training on social accountability tools.

At a day’s capacity building seminar, stakeholders were taken through an electronic infrastructure monitoring tool, step by step-by-step guide to the use of the E-MIT, a practical application of a community scorecard, a practical application of a public expenditure tracking survey and among others.

The Governance and Social Accountability Officer, Aziz Mahmoud highlighted that it is essential on the part of the Assembly members to keep track of infrastructural projects in the Assembly.

He also said the training empowers the citizenry to demand transparency from authorities.

The training was specially tailored to meet the needs of some selected STMA’S Open Government Partnership (OGP) Multistakeholder Forum, by bringing together and equipping a diverse group of stakeholders with the necessary skills and knowledge to hold duty bearers accountable.

It was also aimed to elevate the quality of governance and promote responsible stewardship within the metropolis.

The Twin Cities In Sustainable is a 3-year project being implemented in the cities of Sekondi-Takoradi and Parlemo to address challenges of urban governance, climate change, and social exclusion, with funding from the European Union, EU.
