Thai man charged with beating his three children to death
A man has been charged by Thai police with beating to death his two-year-old daughter and his two infant sons.
They suspect Songsak Songsaeng also murdered his two other young sons from a previous marriage.
The charges come in response to the discovery last week of a two-year-old girl’s body buried beneath a kitchen floor.
According to the police, Mr. Songsak claims to have a history of mental illness and that he killed his children because he couldn’t stand the sound of their cries.
In connection with the death of their two-year-old daughter, his wife has also been indicted. And his ex-wife has been charged over the deaths of the two boys. All three have been taken into custody.
Mr. Songsak has been married four times.
In Bangkok’s Bang Khen neighborhood, police were first made aware of a potential domestic violence case earlier this month.
The two daughters of Mr. Songsak, who are ages four and twelve, were reportedly subjected to physical abuse, according to his neighbors. Police rescued the two daughters while they were home without their parents.
The 12-year-old told police that her parents had killed her two-year-old sister by beating her. Additionally, she assisted law enforcement in locating the body after it had been discovered last week buried beneath a kitchen floor in north-western Thailand.
As a result of his DNA matching that of two infants whose bodies were discovered ten years ago, Thai police have also charged Mr. Songsak of killing two additional sons he had with his third wife.
His third wife had accused him of killing their four infant sons and revealed the whereabouts of two of the bodies to the police.
Police suspect that the two additional victims may have been buried beneath the area where a gas station is currently located.
