Mohammed Kudus scores his first goal for West Ham United in comeback win
Ghanaian attacker, Mohammed Kudus, secured his debut goal for West Ham United during a come-from-behind victory over Backa Topola on Thursday evening.
In the UEFA Europa League opener, the Hammers triumphed 3-1 at London Stadium, with the 23-year-old playing a significant role in two of the goals.
The Serbian visitors took the lead in the opening two minutes of the second half, benefiting from a defensive error by West Ham, with Peter Stanic capitalizing on the mistake.
Six minutes after the 60-minute mark, Kudus appeared to have scored for West Ham United, equalizing the score, but it was ultimately ruled as an own goal.
However, the former Ajax player did not have to wait much longer, as he headed home a corner delivered by James Ward-Prowse in the 70th minute, giving David Moyes’ team the lead.
Substitute Tomas Soucek sealed the victory with another goal in the 82nd minute, assisted by James Ward-Prowse.
Before this match, Mohammed Kudus had made two substitute appearances for West Ham since his transfer from Ajax in August.
