Low Remuneration Making The Media Profession Unattractive – Ken Addy
Ken Addy, a veteran broadcaster, has said that low salaries and unhealthy systems have made the media profession unattractive to people.
People with a passionate love for broadcasting tend to venture into other industries because of rumours surrounding the media fraternity when it comes to the salary bit. Media practitioners fail to address this topic because of the devaluation it comes with.
However, Ken Addy has come out confidently to address the topic most presenters turn their back on. He validated these rumours and gave further explanation.
“Ghanaians do not take this profession (media) seriously and it’s not their fault. You know people hate to talk about this but it’s not bad to say this. The money we earn is not enough and the systems fail to work and it’s a huge problem. If someone declares his or her love for media, they’re immediately looked down upon because of how we are treated. Less salary and bad systems”, he confirmed.
The presenter also made known to Nana Ama Shancy on Spice OFIE ne fie that this spiritual protection saga in the industry is needed.
Mr. Addy is a strong Presbyterian who believes in protection from the almighty and not the other way around. He’s strongly against the notion of getting spiritual protection from idols or lesser Gods.
