In the Ashanti region, the police have apprehended a security guard on suspicion of murdering a businesswoman, a mere month after she had hired him.

This shocking incident has left the communities of Ampeyoo and Ampabame, both suburbs of Kumasi in the Ashanti region, in a state of shock and mourning.

The victim, known as Afua Ahenkan or Princess Afua, reportedly sustained multiple stab wounds at the hands of the young man she had recruited through an agency just one month ago.

The attacker allegedly launched his assault on the deceased while she was engaged in a phone call. Her desperate pleas for assistance raised concerns for the person on the other end of the line, prompting them to rush to her residence after numerous unanswered calls. The suspect made off with Ahenkan’s car, money, and personal belongings.

Upon receiving a report, the Ashanti Central Regional Police Command dispatched investigators to the crime scene. Subsequently, a manhunt was initiated to locate the suspect, while Afua’s body was transported to the morgue at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital, awaiting an autopsy.

A police source has confirmed that the alleged perpetrator was apprehended at his hideout on the outskirts of Kumasi. Presently, the suspect is in police custody and is expected to be transported to Kumasi to aid in the ongoing police investigation.
