There Is No Competition In Ghana Music Now -Stay Jay
Ghanaian Hiplife/ hip hop musician Stay Jay has posited that their music career during his vibrant days has changed extremely, citing no competition these days.
Speaking on SPICE 91.9 FM OFIE ne fie with Nana Ama Shancy, Stay Jay adduced the fact that the internet and social media have made music easier and louder.
“There’s no competition in music anymore. During our time, music was more competitive and hard. Hard because it’s not easy to get a hit song. Before you get a hit song, you have to go the extra mile but it is different these days. With the help of the internet people’s music travels very far without stressing that much”, he detailed.
The ” Shashewowo” hitmaker also claimed that musicians nowadays are putting in little effort in promotion due to the internet, which he terms as “ease”. “During our time you’ll have to go almost everywhere with your songs before it could be a hit.
He claimed that “Social media wasn’t dominant then so everything is about you and your hard work. Now artistes are eased out because all they do these days is promote their songs more on the internet. Frankly speaking, artiste no longer promotes their music through radio and television that much these days”.
Stay Jay asserted that is due to all these reasons that music fades in a short while nowadays, compared to his vibrant days then.
