God Can Use Me To Do Something Good – Dr. Bawumia

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has called on the clergy to support his bid to run for the office of president in the upcoming elections.

In an interaction with some men of God in the Western region as part of his 2-day campaign tour, the Vice President indicated that he has something good to offer Ghanaians when voted into office.

Vice President Bawumia sought guidance as well as prayers in his quest to become the President of Ghana.

“As the political season has opened, I’ve begun my campaign across the country, starting with the Eastern Region, and now the Western Region.

And for all of us who believe in God Almighty, what we know is that it is only God who selects leaders. No Human being can select a leader. The good book tells us that unless the Lord builds the house, they will labour in vain. And this is why this morning I prepared to go around. It is important to meet with you to tell you that I’m in this race, and I need your prayers and blessings.

I believe that I can do something for Ghana I believe God can use everybody because he wants us to change society.”

Giving a background to his political career, Dr. Bawumia highlighted his drive to engage in politics.

He recounted his struggles during his youthful days when he had to clean students’ dormitories to cater for his education in Canada.

Those experiences, he said, have made him appreciate humanity, and he is charged to help the less privileged.

“I used to be a taxi driver when I was in Canada. I used to be a cleaner, cleaning the dormitories of my students; that was my school job. Even though I was a teaching assistant.

That is to tell you that I therefore appreciate people’s challenges, and appreciate the poor, and that is really something that really drives me to try to help less privileged people. I have had periods of difficulty when I had to do all sorts of menial jobs just to continue my education,” Vice President Bawumia added.
