Popular Ghanaian musician Wendy Shay, involved in car accident
Award winning Ghanaian musician and Rufftown Records signee, Wendy Shay, was involved in a car accident ending shockwaves through the entertainment industry.
The artiste was shaken after the accident, which happened on Saturday night on the road between ACP and Kwabenya in Accra.
She sustained some injuries.
A Jeep Wrangler with the license plate SHAY 21-19 is seen with its front end severely damaged in a video taken at the scene of the collision.
According to eyewitnesses, Wendy Shay’s Jeep Wrangler collided with a tipper truck loaded with sand.
On Saturday night’s United Showbiz program, Prince Obimpeh, UTV’s deputy news editor, who was present at the accident scene, gave a live interview about what happened.
He said: “You are aware that the stretch of road between the ACP Junction and Kwabenya is typically clear at night, thus despite the presence of police, cars are frequently traveling at top speed. Coming out of the valley, not far from the KNUST Accra Campus Junction, I noticed a group of people gathering around a car.”
He added that he decided to park and check out what had happened.
“I made the decision to park and observe what was going on. When I checked, I saw a woman getting out of a car. She resembled Wendy Shay and had dreadlocks… I got closer, I could see that it was Wendy Shay. Shay, the Wrangler she was driving had a unique registration. I quickly drew up to her and inquired as to what was going on. She said she was in an excruciating head pain after hitting her head on the dashboard and that she is unable to speak much”.
