Stop Patronizing Foreign Movies And Invest In Ghanaian Movies – Atemuda
Actor and comedian Atemuda has delivered a message to Ghanaians to stop buying foreign movies and rather invest the money in the “almost collapsing movie industry”.
The actor who doubles as a musician distastefully objected to how the government and investors have neglected the movie industry but spend outrageously on foreign movies to be aired on our television stations.
“The industry hasn’t collapsed yet but we just need support from the government and investors.
The government has neglected us for too long, and it’s terrible. We can’t be taken out of the equation because we bring joy to people and we play an important role in the country”, he lamented.
The “Atopa” singer added that if he had the power he would ban the airing of foreign movies on TV stations.
“We have great talents in the industry but because the government has decided to abandon us our movie system is down. How can we make quality movies by all standards when we don’t have the support?
Yet people complain we don’t make good movies. Instead of the government investing in the movie industry, they’re rather buying foreign movies to be aired on our TVs. If I had the power I’d stop all these foreign movies bought and aired on our stations”, he blustered.
In a conversation with Nana Ama Shancy on Spice FM’s OFIE ne fie, he explained how they make money out of their skits. He stated that skit making is quite lucrative and the other source of income is the ambassadorial deals that come their way.
