Police presence in Nsawam Adoagyiri increases due to recent shooting incident
In response to Tuesday’s fatal shooting incident that claimed two lives, Nsawam Adoagyiri in the Eastern region is currently witnessing a significant presence of law enforcement officers.
According to sources, the principal streets of Nsawam Adoagyiri are being patrolled by a substantial contingent of police officers. This measure has been taken to prevent any potential retaliatory actions arising from the ongoing conflict between the two opposing factions.
The victims, whose identities remain undisclosed, are presently at the morgue of the Nsawam government hospital. They were among a group of four individuals who sustained gunshot injuries amidst the renewed chieftaincy disputes between Akyem Kotoku and the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council.
The tensions escalated following the installation of a parallel chief in Nsawam Adoagyiri by the Akyem Abuakwa Traditional Council.
Reports indicate that an emergency meeting is scheduled for the Municipal Security Council, while the police are actively intensifying their investigations to apprehend the individuals responsible for the shooting incident.
