NPP: Kwabena Agyapong encourages winner of Presidential race to adopt his 6-point plan

Following his inability to secure enough votes to progress in the New Patriotic Party‘s (NPP) presidential race, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, a former aspirant, has urged any candidate emerging as the party’s flagbearer to consider adopting his six-point plan.

This plan, according to Mr. Agyapong, offers strategies to enhance the nation’s prospects for success.

At the NPP’s special delegates conference held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, Kwabena Agyei Agyapong, along with Joe Ghartey, Kofi Konadu Apraku, and Kwadwo Poku, did not amass sufficient votes to progress to the next phase of the party’s presidential race.

During the launch of his campaign on Tuesday, July 11, 2023, Mr. Agyapong emphasized the significance of choosing candidates who can effectively address the nation’s challenges.

He further urged the party not to elect individuals who had not succeeded in the Akufo-Addo administration to lead the party in preparation for the 2024 elections.

In an interview on Accra-based Citi FM, Kwabena Agyapong expressed his hope that the eventual flagbearer, whoever it may be, would incorporate elements of his six-point plan to rescue the country. He emphasized his desire for the selected candidate to align with his ideals and suggested approaches.

“I hope that whoever emerges takes out my six-point plan to rescue the country. I would like the person to identify with some of my ideals.”

Mr. Agyapong revealed his initial expectation to secure a position within the top five, as early poll results indicated his potential for a place in the top four.

Despite his confidence and hard work, he recognized that the delegates’ decision prevailed, which he respected and accepted gracefully.
