NPP Delegates Conference: “For my 3 votes, I think I’ve done well” -Kwadwo Poku expresses content

Kwadwo Nsafoah Poku, an unsuccessful flagbearer aspirant of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has expressed his satisfaction with the three votes he received in the party’s special delegates conference held on Saturday across various regions.

Mr. Poku had previously expressed confidence in securing a spot in the top five contenders for the presidential candidacy, slated for November 4.

However, the outcome saw him amassing a mere three votes out of the 955 delegates who participated in the NPP’s special delegates conference. This result effectively eliminated him from the upcoming flagbearership race.

In an interview with Accra-based Citi FM on Monday, August 28, 2023, Kwadwo Poku provided a unique perspective on his modest vote count, attributing part of his contentment to the possibility that some delegates might have cast multiple votes.

“You know some people voted twice…I don’t vote, So some of the candidates who voted for themselves and also had a proxy voted twice. So if you look at my three votes…that for me is a plus.”

“But for my first votes, I think I have done well and I am very happy with myself,” he added.
