Kenya: Dozens of youth in Eldoret protest alleged job scam
Numerous young people from Kenya have been protesting in Eldoret after alleging that they paid large sums of money to an organization that promised but failed to provide them with jobs abroad.
They are requesting a refund from First Choice Recruitment and Consultancy Agency after paying up to $2,800 (£2,200) for the chance to apply for employment in the Middle East, Europe, and Canada.
According to local media, Judy Chepchirchir, the agency’s owner, has denied multiple summonses from the county administration and the Labour and Social Welfare committee of the Kenyan senate.
Several publications have also reported that Ms. Chepchirchir and her agency are the subject of police investigations.
