The Ghana Education Service (GES) has strongly criticized the alleged physical assault of a student by the Assistant Headmaster (Academics) at Nkwatia Presby Secondary School.
The incident, which was captured on video and has subsequently circulated widely on social media platforms, depicts the Assistant Headmaster slapping and striking the student, reportedly a second-year student.
In an official statement, the GES expressed deep concern over the video footage, unequivocally denouncing the behavior of the Assistant Headmaster.
The GES has taken decisive action by relieving the Assistant Headmaster of his duties. Additionally, the student subjected to the assault is currently receiving medical attention and emotional support.
The GES has communicated that the Eastern Regional Director of Education is collaborating with school authorities and law enforcement agencies to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
