West Ham announce the signing of Mohammed Kudus
Mohammed Kudus has officially made a transfer to West Ham United, a Premier League team, from Ajax Amsterdam.
The 23-year-old talented player garnered significant attention across Europe due to his impressive performances, particularly during the previous season, where he excelled for both his club and national team on grand stages.
In a competitive race against prominent clubs, including Premier League rivals Chelsea and Brighton and Hove Albion, West Ham emerged victorious by securing a five-year contract in a transfer deal valued at €44.5 million.
The club expressed their satisfaction in the acquisition, stating, “West Ham United are delighted to announce the signing of Mohammed Kudus.”
Despite fierce competition from some of Europe’s top clubs, West Ham managed to secure the services of the dynamic Ghanaian international attacker from Ajax.
“The 23-year-old joins the Irons on a five-year contract for an undisclosed fee, becoming the Club’s third major summer signing following his former Ajax teammate and Mexico international Edson Álvarez and England midfielder James Ward-Prowse,” the club confirmed these details through an official announcement on their website.
Kudus, who concluded his remarkable journey with Ajax by delivering an impressive hat-trick in the UEFA Europa League on a Thursday night, conveyed his enthusiasm about joining the Europa Conference League champions and expressed his unwavering dedication to his new team in London.
Reflecting on his long-held aspirations, Kudus shared his sentiments during his initial interview with West Ham: “I’ve been dreaming to play in a league like this since I was a kid,”
“I’ve been dreaming of this moment and I’m so happy to be here. But it doesn’t stop here, I want to keep going.”
The player emphasized his commitment to engaging and entertaining fans, underscoring his belief that football’s essence lies in providing excitement to the spectators. With a strong sense of purpose, Kudus is eagerly prepared to contribute to the team’s success and uphold its values.
He expressed his eagerness to begin his journey with the club, saying, “I’m really happy to be here. I will fight for the badge. I can’t wait to get started.”
